What career and / or employment opportunities will I have?

The Certificate II in Automotive Technology Studies provides students with a broad base of skills necessary to maintain and service a wide range of motor vehicles. This solid grounding in the principles of automotive maintenance and repair will give you a head-start in gaining an automotive apprenticeship.

Automotive apprenticeships are available in four industry specific strands. These are electrical, mechanical, mechanics and vehicle body. Each strand has individual occupational streams and their own specialist qualifications. For example, mechanical – diesel fitter, heavy vehicle road transport, motorcycle.

The following training package qualifications from AUR05 Automotive Industry Training Package Retail, Service and Repair are available as a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program:
  • Certificate II in Automotive Aftermarket Manufacturing
  • Certificate II in Bicycles
  • Certificate II in Automotive Electrical Technology
  • Certificate II in Automotive Vehicle Servicing
  • Certificate II in Marine
  • Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical

  • Certificate II in Automotive Vehicle Body
  • Certificate II in Motor Sport

  • Certificate II in Automotive Warehousing/Distribution Operations
  • Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology
