    Explore how the natural environment can inspire and inform the design and construction of 3 dimensional textiles.

    Starting with a walk at Shelly Beach, using your sketchbook or camera, we will gather inspiration as a starting point to create 3 dimensional textile forms. On return to the studio we will then explore the creative potential of fabric, fibre and stitch techniques to create and construct, with content being shaped in response to participants’ individual observations and sampling revealing a personal visual language.

    Many easy to follow construction methods using both hand and machine stitching techniques will be covered. Suitable for all levels of experience....enjoy a journey of inspiration and discovery.

    This course is especially designed for HSR’s and Deputy HSR’s (DepHSRs) . It is not assessed against competency criteria but intended to assist HSRs understand and exercise their knowledge effectively, to make their workplace safer.

    Although HSRs and DepHSRs are the primary audience, managers, supervisors, health and safety committee members and anyone with an interest in health and safety may also benefit from attending.

The broad purpose of the course is to refresh HSR knowledge, skills and confidence that enables them to perform their rights and exercise their knowledge and powers for the purposes of representing members of their Designated Work Group (DWG) and to help make their workplace safer.
