JobTrainer Courses

Get free or low-fee training through the JobTrainer initiative. If you're aged 17-24 or looking for work, you may be able to access a JobTrainer place with South West TAFE.

If you’re eligible for JobTrainer, you'll be able to access free or low-fee (concession) courses and free short accredited courses (skill sets).

If you're enrolling in a course on our Free TAFE course list, you will not be required to pay tuition fees. Even if you hold a higher qualification or have previously used their Free TAFE entitlement, you can enrol in a Free TAFE course under JobTrainer.

If you are enrolling in a course that's not on our Free TAFE course list, you will pay no more than 20% of the tuition fee.

Please note, there may still be some costs you will be required to pay such as course materials, uniform, excursions, books, etc.

Who is eligible for a JobTrainer course?

A person can participate under JobTrainer if they are:

  • An Australian Citizen, permanent resident, a new Zealand citizen or asylum seeker

and

  • 17 to 24 years old when the course starts; or
  • a job seeker of any age.

Proof of age or evidence of job seeker status will be required.

Please note: The JobTrainer initiative will only subsidise your tuition fees for the course, there may still be some costs you will be required to pay such as course materials, uniform, excursions, books, etc.
