Whilst we pride ourselves on our hands-on training, we have had to adjust most of our courses for study from home and remote learning during the COVID-19 restrictions. This means courses will be delivered using a range of methods including online learning, virtual classrooms, workbooks and direct contact with your teacher.
Given the government restrictions that are now in place to reduce the spread of coronavirus in Australia, we expect this new model of study will continue until the government makes changes to these restrictions.
Completed the Certificate III in Tourism SIT30116 and looking to upgrade your qualification?
This course offers you to easily upgrade your current qualification to a Certificate IV level in just six weeks. It consists of five units that will develop your skills in interpreting financial information, coaching others, managing conflict, customer service and work health and safety
Please note: this five-unit course is only available to students who have completed the Certificate III in Tourism SIT30116
Completion of this course will meet the entry requirements for you to continue study in the Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management.
In the Certificate IV in Travel and Tourism you will learn to provide advice on Australian and international destinations, to process travel documents, use a computerised reservations or operations system, construct promotional international airfares, prepare quotations and to use social media in a business.
You will also learn about cultural sensitivity, managing conflict, working with others and WHS.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in any sector of the tourism and travel industry as a supervisor or senior operations or sales coordinator. This qualification allows for multiskilling and for specialisation in operations or marketing.

After successful completion of this course, you may choose to continue study in the Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management.
Completion of this course meets the entry requirements for the Diploma course.
Significant amounts of work placement are built into our training which provides you with vital networks and real life experiences. In addition, you will have the opportunity to complete an independent placement with an employer of their choice.

This course involves accredited units. You will be required to complete assessment tasks to demonstrate your underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes to meet the course outcomes. A combination of written, oral and practical assessment strategies will be used in either a classroom, online or workplace environment.
Where units require demonstration of skills in a workplace environment, you will have the opportunity to do this either in your own workplace (where appropriate), through a practical placement, or by using one of the Institute's simulated workshops/classrooms. Detailed information about the types, conduct and dates of assessments will be provided in advance. You will also be provided with information about the opportunity for reassessment and appeal.
Once you have applied for your chosen course, you will receive a thank you email from South West TAFE with a few steps to help process your enrolment.

There are 4 different rates of tuition fees. Only one will apply to you (depending on your eligibility and circumstances).
The fees listed below are indicative only and may be subject to change without notice and given individual circumstances. Your actual fees will be calculated based on your individual circumstances at the time of enrolment. Funding made available to eligible individuals by State and Commonwealth Governments. If funding is utilised, this may affect future opportunities to access additional funding in the future.

Once we have processed your enrolment form, you will receive an email with your invoice.
Payments will need to be arranged within five(5) business days of receiving the email containing your invoice.
