Apprenticeships and Traineeships
Partially transparent design of a fingerprint

We know that a successful business is built on delivering exceptional levels of service and lasting client relationships.

Developing productive skills a business needs to grow is an important issue for employers. Apprenticeships and traineeships are employment-based and underpinned by nationally recognised qualifications that have been developed through industry consultation.

At South West TAFE Pure Academy we offer customised training programs with curriculum, facilities and training that is relevant to actual job requirements.

Employing an apprentice or trainee

Apprenticeships and Traineeships combine training and paid employment and are available to anyone of working age.

An Apprenticeship or Traineeship can be either full-time, part-time or school-based and will lead to a nationally recognised qualification. Training may be delivered either ‘on’ or ‘off’ the job (or both) and is ‘competency-based’ learning. A range of financial incentives and assistance may apply.

What is an Australian School-based Apprenticeship or traineeship?

An Australian School-based Apprenticeship or Traineeship undertaken part-time while the apprentice or trainee is at school. It combines paid employment, on or off-the-job vocational training and senior secondary school studies.

Australian Apprenticeship Support Network Providers

The Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) provides free support to employers and apprentices throughout the life of an apprenticeship.

AASNs assist employers in recruiting, training and retaining an Australian Apprentice. ASSNs also administer the Australian Apprenticeship Incentives Program and Trade Support Loans, engage with State Training Authorities to manage apprenticeship administration such as Training Contracts, training plan approvals and completion arrangements.

Visit www.australianapprenticeships.gov.au for further information.

Where to start?

Once you have found an apprentice or trainee, contact an Apprenticeship Network Provider (AASN) to confirm details about incentives and to organise signing a training contract between you and the apprentice or trainee. Visit www.australianapprenticeships.gov.au for further information.

When you select South West TAFE Pure Academy as your Registered Training Provider (RTO) we will work closely with both you and your apprentice or trainee to develop an individualised training plan that suits your needs. We provide high quality training and your apprentice or trainee will learn the latest and most relevant skills from our highly qualified and experienced teachers.
