A lifelong love of cars led Marcus to a career change into his dream job.

/ Success Story
I’d always loved cars and hoped to work in the automotive industry. Eventually after working in a couple of other jobs I decided to become a mature aged light vehicle mechanical apprentice.

I’m now a third year apprentice and I’ve really loved it. I work with a great bunch of people at McNeils Tyre and Auto.

We get a good mix of cars and get to do a bit of everything. I love the interaction in the workshop with my work mates and customers, it’s really enjoyable.

The teachers at South West TAFE have been absolutely phenomenal. I had my reservations going back to study but I’ve found it to be a great change. It’s what I’ve always wanted to do.

In the future I’d like to continue to advance my knowledge with other courses.

I’d encourage anyone that is considering studying as a mature age student to go for it.
