Work experience at school leads Toby to a mechanical engineering apprenticeship

/ Success Story
I was keen to get some experience in welding and decided work experience while at school was a great way to get an insight into the industry.

After looking up local engineering businesses I came across Niflex Engineering and completed a weeks work experience there which then lead to one day a week and eventually being offered an apprenticeship.

I enjoy what I do and no two days are the same. I started off with my passion being welding but once I learnt more about machining that’s now become the bigger passion.

Trade school has been good, and we get to do things we don’t always do in our day to day work.

I really enjoy being a fitter and machinist and would encourage anyone considering it as a career to go for it.
