Introduction
South West TAFE are accredited to deliver this VicRoads authorised motorcycle training and assessment course. The Motorcycle Permit Assessment (MPA) is a compulsory two day training assessment which must be attended in full. This is the first of three steps required to obtain a motorcycle licence (Learner Permit/Check Ride/Licence).
The assessment includes an on and off-road component, and a motorcycle learner permit knowledge test (KT1). In preparation for the Motorcycle Learner Permit knowledge assessment, it is recommended participants read the Victorian Rider Handbook which is available via VicRoads Office, newsagents or online.
The course will provide you with professional instruction on the fundamentals of riding safely on the road, regardless of how well you ride or how long you have been riding. It is also recommended for those returning to riding after many years or those transitioning from dirt bike riding, and who may never have had any professional training.
You will improve your motorcycle skills and knowledge, with emphasis on the importance of correct driver attitudes and safety. Training is undertaken on a manual motorcycle provided by South West TAFE. It is crucial that you are wearing protective clothing to help keep you safe.
