Introduction
The Motorcycle Licence Assessment is the final mandatory test to be undertaken to gain your motorcycle licence in Australia.
To be eligible to undertake the licence assessment you must have held an Australian Motorcycle Learner Permit for at least 3 months and complete the Check Ride at least one month prior to the Licence assessment.
During the licence assessment, you will undertake on and off-road assessments one-on-one with a trainer including the eyesight test, hazard perception test (not required if you already hold a drivers licence) and a practical assessment of your motorcycle skills.

On-range, off road assessments:
- warm up ride, curves and change path
- braking from a point
- controlled stop, left turn and slow ride
On-road assessments:
- move off from a parked position on the side of the road
- approach a turn and accelerate to a safe speed after turning
- turn left at a cross or T intersection
- come to a complete stop at a stop sign before proceeding when safe to do so
- slow down and give way at a giveway sign before proceeding when safe to do so
- ride through a roundabout
- ride through a curve
- ride in traffic
