Introduction
This course provides you with the training you need to meet AS1796 requirements, in order to undertake the Weld Australia exam for a selected ticket. A Welder's Certificate indicates that you have a sound knowledge of the theory of safe welding and have demonstrated the ability required to make welds using the appropriate process.
For this course, you can choose from the following welding tickets:
- Certificate 3E – MMAW (stick) Plate Ticket
- Certificate 4 – MMAW (stick) Pipe ticket
- Certificate 7 –GTAW (TIG) Ticket
- Certificate 8F – FCAW (Flux core) Ticket
- Certificate 8G – GMAW (MIG) Ticket

- practical skills to deposit weldments to meet specifications
- visual inspection techniques.
Course Outcomes and Career Opportunities
You must have passed the theory component with Weld Australia (WTIA) before being able to undertake the ticket exam for this course. The theory component can be included in this course to be undertaken externally in a self-paced manner.
Once you have passed the Weld Australia exam, Weld Australia will issue you with your welding ticket.
