This short course will help you develop the practical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to deliver professional relaxation massage services.
It’s ideal for beginners with little or no experience or qualifications in massage or beauty. It’s also suitable for those already working in the beauty industry who want to add a relaxation massage to their skillset. This course provides a strong foundation for further study in massage, beauty therapy, or the broader wellness industry.
What will I Learn?
You will develop the practical knowledge and hands-on skills required to deliver professional relaxation massage services. You will also gain an understanding of the skin and body’s structure and function, as well as foundational nutrition knowledge to support holistic client care in a beauty therapy setting.
Course Outcomes and Career Opportunities
You may find entry-level roles as relaxation massage therapists, spa or beauty assistants, or start a home-based service.
Entrance requirements & pre-requisites
You must be at least 17 years of age and have completed Year 11 or equivalent.

Assessment
This course involves accredited units. You will be required to complete assessment tasks to demonstrate your underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes to meet the course outcomes. A combination of written, oral and practical assessment strategies will be used in either a classroom, online or workplace environment.
Where units require demonstration of skills in a workplace environment, you will have the opportunity to do this either in your own workplace (where appropriate), through a practical placement, or by using one of the Institute's simulated workshops/classrooms. Detailed information about the types, conduct and dates of assessments will be provided in advance. You will also be provided with information about the opportunity for reassessment and appeal.
After booking
Once you have booked your place in a short course, you will receive an email confirming the date, time and location of the course, and instructions on the next steps of your enrolment process. A tax invoice/receipt is automatically emailed to you at the time of purchase.

Complete a Pre-Training Review You will receive an email to complete a Pre-Training Review online. This evaluation helps us ensure you receive any necessary support to achieve a successful outcome for your course. Failure to complete will incur a $20 administration fee for a booking cancellation or transfer.
Create or provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) A USI is a nationally recognised reference number that provides an online record of your training qualifications gained in Australia. Create your USI online, or already have a USI but can’t remember it? Find your USI online.
Skills recognition If you have experience or prior qualifications, you may be eligible to apply for recognition of prior learning and gain credits. You will be asked to provide any relevant Statement of Attainment to support identified credits.

Over the phone: we will call you to take EFTPOS payment over the phone using your credit or debit card.
In person: visit your nearest campus to pay by card.
Authority to Invoice: if you nominate a third party (such as your employer) to cover your course cost, we will email you an Authority to Invoice form.
