Introduction
This course is designed for qualified automotive technicians to learn how to depower and reinitialise hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
What will I Learn?
During this course you will learn how to depower and reinitialise hybrid electric vehicles.
You will learn the importance of ensuring the vehicle High Voltage (HV) Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) is isolated before commencing any service or repair work and resetting once the energy storage system is reinitialised.
During this unit, importance is placed on applying RESS and Separated Extra Low Voltage (SELV) electrical safety procedures. This course is a requirement for VicRoads licenced testers.
Mode of delivery
This course is delivered over two days across a one-week period.
Course Outcomes and Career Opportunities
Further training pathways from this qualification include Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling or other relevant qualifications.
This course is a requirement for accreditation to VicRoads for road worthy licenced testers.
