Students will engage in integrated programs and have the opportunity to contribute to a pathway that reflects not only personal interests, but employment and industry needs in the local area.
Core units of literacy, numeracy, work-related skills and personal development skills are offered at Foundation, Intermediate and Senior levels. A work placement will also form part of these hours at the Intermediate and Senior levels.
These hours will be integrated and work completed reflecting either Vocational Training being completed at the time or individual and group projects.
The VCAL program and the teaching of it at South West TAFE supports and promotes the principles and practices of Australian democracy through a commitment to elected government, the rules of law, the values of openness and tolerance, equal opportunity, and freedom of speech.
We are taking expressions of interest for a course that will prepare you for study at a tertiary level.
The six month course will be offered through a combination of virtual classes and monthly workshops at the Warrnambool campus. This course will develop your academic reading, writing and research skills, and your ability to use a range of technologies in tertiary learning scenarios. You will learn about the study requirements of higher education programs, and gain a deeper understanding of tertiary application processes. You will also develop your own personal study plan and portfolio to broaden your opportunities with higher education programs.
