Orientation

Orientation is all about helping you get familiar with SWTAFE and your course. Explore everything that life at SWTAFE has to offer!

The key parts to orientation:

  • Help to find your way- stay connected with SWTAFE by joining our student group, connecting with our free support services and familiarising yourself with your campus.
  • Events and activities- meet other students and get involved in SWTAFE with an event in the orientation schedule.

2024 Orientation Schedule

Warrnambool campus orientation events

Monday 12 February

Time: 12pm
Location: courtyard
Join us for a FREE barbecue in the inner courtyard and enjoy the music of Darren Ely. Community organisations, WRAD and Brophy will be in attendance.

Wednesday 14 February

Time: 12pm
Location: outside South West Central
This is your opportunity to meet the SWTAFE support services team, along with other community organisations. Enjoy a FREE lunch and the music of Matt Hoey. Let’s Talk will be roving and offering self-care tips.

Portland campus orientation events

All students are invited to attend a FREE barbecue on the following dates. Join us to meet some of our Student Services teams and community organisations, such as Headspace.

Colac campus orientation events

Monday 5 February

Time: from 12pm
Location: Colac campus

Free welcome lunch to all SWTAFE students studying at our Colac campus in 2024.Meet with other students and the student support teams. Let’s Talk will be in attendance offering self-care tips.

Sherwood Park orientation events

Tuesday 20 February

Time: 10am
Free welcome morning tea to all SWTAFE students studying at Sherwood Park in 2024. Meet with other students and the student support teams including Koorie support, wellbeing, apprentice support and the South West Skills and Jobs Centre. Community organisations, Brophy and Let’s Talk, will also be in attendance.

Hamilton campus orientation events

All students are invited to attend a FREE barbecue on the below dates. This is a great opportunity to meet with other students and the student support teams, including Koorie support, wellbeing, disability support, learning support, Reconnect, the Student Voice, and the South West Skills and Jobs Centre.
