Are you an aspiring Board Director, looking to build governance capabilities in south west Victoria?

South West TAFE, Wannon Water, South West Healthcare, Brophy Family and Youth Services and Southern Stay have partnered with The Observership Program to offer a unique opportunity for future leaders.

We, together with the local network of organisations, are excited to again partner with The Observership Program to offer a unique opportunity for future Board Directors to gain unprecedented access to and experience in the inner workings of a governance body for 12 months, including training from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Ethics Centre.

Key requirements for applicants

To apply for the 2027 Board Observership Program you must:

  • Be based in South West Victoria
  • Be aged between 25 and 45* years old
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident and live in the state for the duration of the program
  • Have either no prior board experience or little or no formal governance training
  • Have a passion for the for-purpose sector and want to make a valuable contribution to south west regional communities while learning about board governance.
  • Have capacity and support to attend all board meetings and 10+ training sessions throughout 2027 (a combination of face to face and online events).
