Brianna said she had always loved working with kids and she wanted to gain as much knowledge as she could before she signed up to be an au pair on the other side of the world.

She started the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care at South West TAFE last year and is now studying her diploma with plans to continue studying education at university.

“I’ve learnt so much from this course, the training and teachers have been amazing and we felt so prepared for our work placements,” she said.

Brianna is now working in the toddler room at Goodstart Early Learning Centre in Dennington and loves her job.

“I love that we get to follow the progress of the children and watch them grow and watch their skills improve,” she said.

She said the theory-based work during her course was great for building knowledge and the practical work and placements were brilliant in gaining real-life experience.

Brianna said South West TAFE’s childcare courses were so appealing as on completion students were left with so many options.

“There are so many job opportunities and options for further study. This course can lead you in so many different directions,” she said.
