Marlee completed her traineeship at the Moyne Shire in 2017 and was rewarded with winning South West TAFE’s Trainee of the Year award at the 2017 Graduation and Awards Ceremony.

She said the traineeship was the perfect way to spend her gap year and the time management, business and computer skills she learnt were invaluable.

“The skills and experiences I gained in that year will help me in any future studies or career,” she said.

Marlee’s teacher and employer were impressed by her exceptional skills and said she was a pleasure to teach.

Since completing her Certificate III in Business, Marlee started her Bachelor of Arts at Federation University in Ballarat in 2018.

“My plan is to complete my bachelor with a double major in literature and media, and after that I hope to pursue secondary teaching with a focus in these two areas,” she said.

She said her traineeship was such a rewarding experience and she was so proud of the skills she had gained that had helped her in her first year of university and would last her a lifetime.

“I wouldn’t be here today if I had not completed my certificate. The skills and knowledge that I gained during my time with South West TAFE have given me the knowledge and experience to tackle the challenges of university, and life beyond study.

“I am so grateful for my experience and could not recommend it enough. I encourage anyone considering the certificate to give it a go, as it opens so many doors for your future," she said.
