Screen Printing

This beginner-friendly course introduces hands-on screen-printing using stencil and screen-filler methods, accessible techniques suitable for home use.

You will learn how to create designs suitable for single- and multi-layer prints.

By the end of this course, you’ll have the confidence and skills to create a series of original screen-printed artworks.

Through hands-on guidance, you will explore:

• Colour & Design Basics
  Build a foundation in colour and design fundamentals to create designs specifically for screen printing 

• Stencil & Screen-Filler Techniques
  Explore hand-cut stencils and hand-painted screen-filler methods to produce prints

• Printing Skills
  Develop practical experience mixing inks, setting up screens, registering layers, and printing consistent duplicates

You need to be at least 16 years old. 

What to bring:

• A4 Sketchbook - for colour and design activities
• General kit - pencils, scissors, ruler, eraser, and a compass
• shirt or apron – to protect clothing from inks
• Wear sturdy shoes

The following items are required after week 2:

• Print surfaces – e.g., t-shirts, tote bags, t-towels, fabric, paper, card, or other items
• Extra pieces of fabric to experiment with different colours and layers suitable for screen printing 
• One screen frame will be supplied; the participant must provide any additional frames

Here's an outline of fees and costs associated with your course.

Some courses require specific resources or materials necessary for your study eg: tools of the trade, excursions, etc. Final costs will be determined upon enrolment.

• Online: pay securely via our online payment portal.
• Over the phone: we will call you to take EFTPOS payment over the phone using your credit or debit card.
• In person: visit your nearest campus to pay by card.
• Authority to Invoice: if you nominate a third party (such as your employer) to cover your course cost, we will email you an Authority to Invoice form.

2. Verify – You will be asked to verify your identity online as part of the booking process.
3. Pay – Pay online, in person, over the phone, or request an invoice for third-party payment.
4. Attend – Once confirmed, we’ll email all the course details and any pre-reading required.
