Tenae wins third year hairdressing award

TENAE Mounsey loves that she can learn new skills and practice different techniques during her training at Pure Academy.
Tenae is an apprentice at Salt Hair in Port Fairy and is studying her Certificate III in Hairdressing at South West TAFE.
“I love hairdressing and making people feel happier within themselves,” she said.
Tenae said she loved training at South West TAFE and had learnt many new skills.
“I enjoy that we can do different things that we don’t do in the salon. We do bleach on scalps and straightening treatments at South West TAFE, all the sorts of things that we don’t do in the salon hours,” she said.
Tenae was awarded the Certificate III in Hairdressing Third Year Apprentice of the Year at South West TAFE’s Pure Awards recently.
She said she was enjoying hairdressing but was looking forward to seeing where life would take her in the future.
