If you love all things beauty related then this course is for you. In this hands-on course, you will learn a variety of skills and the knowledge to become a professional beautician capable of providing a range of beauty services including nail services, waxing, lash and brow treatments, tanning, and makeup application.
The Certificate III in Beauty Services at South West TAFE will allow you to get essential hands-on practice in a real salon environment in our dynamic and vibrant Pure Academy Salon.
The Certificate III in Beauty services will give you skills and knowledge in a variety of beauty streams including:

Semester 1:
Monday 9.00am - 3.30pm, Tuesday 9.00am - 3.30pm & Wednesday 9.00am - 3.30pm
Semester 2:
Monday 9.00am - 3.30pm, Wednesday 9.00am - 3.30pm & Thursday 9am - 3.30pm

There is no work placement required for this course. You will complete all practical tasks and assessments on clients whilst working in the Pure Academy. The fully-functioning salon at Pure Academy will give you the opportunity to become confident with your skills and help you become job-ready to industry standards.

You must be at least 16 years of age and have completed year 10 (or equivalent).
To be eligible to be awarded this qualification you must successfully complete 18 units: 14 core and 4 elective units.

This course involves accredited units. You will be required to complete assessment tasks to demonstrate your underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes to meet the course outcomes. A combination of written, oral and practical assessment strategies will be used in either a classroom, online or workplace environment.
Where units require demonstration of skills in a workplace environment, you will have the opportunity to do this either in your own workplace (where appropriate), through a practical placement, or by using one of the Institute's simulated workshops/classrooms. Detailed information about the types, conduct and dates of assessments will be provided in advance. You will also be provided with information about the opportunity for reassessment and appeal.

This is Free TAFE course. Free TAFE is a Victorian Government program that covers tuition fees for priority courses for students who are eligible for government-subsidised training. There may still be some costs like course materials, uniform or excursions applicable to the course you select.
