A trainee undertaking the Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy will not only learn to safely and effectively provide clients with quality nail, waxing, tanning, lash and brow and makeup services, but further their beauty industry knowledge to include facial services, body treatments and massage.
Along with on the job direction students will be expertly guided by Pure Academy’s industry specialists ensuring that they receive the knowledge and practical direction required to become valuable members of a beauty salon or spa.
Completing the Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy will give you skills and knowledge across a variety of beauty streams including:
Students who have completed the traineeship in Certificate IV in Beauty therapy have the opportunity to continue employment in a variety of beauty industry settings. Working in a salon, resorts, day spas, cruise ships, make-up artistry, massage, or own your own business.
This course provides a pathway for further study at South West TAFE in the Diploma of Beauty Therapy.

Students entering this course must be employed by a beauty salon or day spa as a trainee.
To enrol, you 16 years or older and have completed year 10 or equivalent. You will also require a Working With Children Check and Police Check (any disclosures to be treated on an individual basis and may impact on your ability to enrol in the course).
You need to be employed in this field as an apprentice or trainee before commencing this course.

To be eligible to be awarded this qualification you must successfully complete 13 core units and 6 elective units. The elective units are in consultation with the student and employer.

This course involves accredited units. You will be required to complete assessment tasks to demonstrate your underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes to meet the course outcomes. A combination of written, oral and practical assessment strategies will be used in either a classroom, online or workplace environment.
Where units require demonstration of skills in a workplace environment, you will have the opportunity to do this either in your own workplace (where appropriate), through a practical placement, or by using one of the Institute's simulated workshops/classrooms. Detailed information about the types, conduct and dates of assessments will be provided in advance. You will also be provided with information about the opportunity for reassessment and appeal.

Funding made available to eligible individuals by State and Commonwealth Governments. If funding is utilised, this may affect future opportunities to access additional funding in the future.
