This comprehensive beauty course will give you the skills and confidence to work in a variety of
beauty areas including day spas, resorts and retreats. Students will learn a wide variety of beauty
services including specialised facial treatments, body massage, hot stone
therapy, aromatherapy massage, waxing, lash and brow treatments, nail services, and make-up.
In consultation with our Industry Partners, students will undertake work placement as part of
their course, gaining invaluable experience in a professional environment. Students will also get
essential hands on practice in a real salon environment in our dynamic and vibrant Pure Academy
Salon. Students in this course will experience an excursion to a leading Day Spa along with free
access to up-to-date workshops with our industry partners.
To complete your training and be truly ready to step into your dream job you have the opportunity
to join our exclusive Emerging Graduate Program which encompasses resume writing, interview
preparation, personal presentation, business skills and work experience.
You will learn specialised facial treatments, spa treatments, body massage, stone therapy massage, aromatherapy massage, waxing, lash and tinting and shaping, nail and make-up services, all whilst providing services to clients in the Pure Academy Salon.

On completion of this course you will have the opportunity to undertake a variety of employment opportunities - working in a salon, resorts, day spas, cruise ships, make-up artistry, massage, salon management or own your own business.
This comprehensive course has a strong industry focus and in partnership with Quality Suites Deep Blue, students will undertake industry work placement as part of their course.
You will complete practical tasks and assessments on clients whilst working on clients in the Pure Academy Salon. In partnership with Deep Blue, you will undertake work experience throughout their course to gain valuable industry experience.
You will also attend sessions with your teacher at local spas (ie. Endota, Deep Blue) and have an excursion to a large high-end spa during your training.

You will need to have completed year 12, demonstrate an ACSF level of 3 or provide evidence of completion of a Certificate IV or higher qualification. You must also be 17 years of age or older.
You are also required to obtain a police check and a Working With Children check prior to starting the course. The impact of any disclosures will be considered on a case by case basis.
To be eligible to be awarded this qualification you must successfully complete 20 core and 9 elective units

This course involves accredited units. You will be required to complete assessment tasks to demonstrate your underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes to meet the course outcomes. A combination of written, oral and practical assessment strategies will be used in either a classroom, online or workplace environment.
Where units require demonstration of skills in a workplace environment, you will have the opportunity to do this either in your own workplace (where appropriate), through a practical placement, or by using one of the Institute's simulated workshops/classrooms. Detailed information about the types, conduct and dates of assessments will be provided in advance. You will also be provided with information about the opportunity for reassessment and appeal.
